Gallery Cygnus is pleased to present the work of Jean Behnke: "I'll know it when I see it."
This one woman show of inventive printmaking and sculpture made from combining materials in nontraditional ways using methods
of relief printing, casting and assemblage.
Please join us for Jean's Artist Reception Saturday, November
2nd, from 5-8pm. The gallery will be participating in La Conner's Art's Alive Festival November 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Jean's show continues through December 22nd.
"One should wear a white lab coat when working in the studio,
or actually pajamas are fine. It is always an experimental laboratory. These invented objects and shapes result
from a kind of tensional encounter with things, like imaginations of microscopic cells or massive, glorious ship propellers,
forms carrying some compelling and inherent density. Making this work is simply my ongoing approach to finding a way
around. It does appear to me, in life, that syn-chronic connection is the true indicator and guide for everything,
so my aim is to pay attention."
Gallery Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, noon-5pm or by appointment:
